Johanna Anela Köb is the founder of Ecstatic Dance Zurich and the Ecstatic Dance Festival Switzerland. In 2015, she brought Ecstatic Dance to Switzerland and has been passionately dedicated to nurturing, developing, and holding this practice and its community ever since.

For more than ten years, she has been guiding people with sensitivity and care on journeys towards a deep and grounded connection through movement, music, and voice. Her work is rooted in a deep trust in the wisdom of the body.

She creates spaces where people feel safe to explore themselves, connect with others, come home to themselves, and experience the transformative power of embodied awareness.

How it works?

Ecstatic Dance is a vibrant movement meditation that blends dance, mindfulness, and self-expression. With gentle guidance and prompts, it helps you connect deeply to your body, the space around you, and the collective energy of the group. We cultivate a welcoming environment where you can feel at ease and fully immerse yourself in the musical journey. To conclude, we offer sound healing or a grounding group activity to integrate and complete the experience.

Guidelines?

no shoes (and wear comfy clothes!), no booze (or any other drugs), no talking (body language only!)

Prior experience required?

No experience is necessary—everyone is welcome, regardless of age or physical ability.

Why we don’t talk on the dance floor?

No talking on the dance floor allows us to move out of our heads and into our bodies, hearts, and spirits.

Are children welcome?

We love children, and all kids under 16 are free with adult supervison. Ear protection is suggested. Only if the event is happeing during the day (not at the evening events).

What should I do if I forget something?

The Lost & Found is stored in a designated box at the specific location.
